There are good times, and then there are Ginnie Springs times.
If you know, you know.
Back when I was, still am, a proud Gator at the University of Florida, Ginnie Springs was the go-to spot — a sanctuary for clear water, float trips, and questionable decisions (the good kind). Fast forward to post-graduation, and it only made sense to celebrate freedom with one last splash. Little did I know, this trip would deliver one of the wildest curveballs life’s ever thrown me: a full-blown disco bus parked in the middle of paradise.
Yep. You read that right.
Picture it: the sun’s setting in full Florida glory, sky streaked in pink and gold. I’m with my ride-or-die crew, soaking in the magic, when BAM — we spot this psychedelic party-mobile glowing like Studio 54 on wheels. Out steps a man with the kind of sparkle in his eye that says, “You’re about to have a night you won’t forget.” Challenge accepted.

The bus was lit — literally and metaphorically. Flashing lights, funky beats, and vibes straight out of a Tarantino flick. I climbed aboard and boom — I’m in a disco time warp, dancing under the stars with strangers who felt like long-lost friends. For a few glorious hours, the real world paused. The air buzzed with music, freedom, and the kind of joy you can’t plan.

It was magic—weird, wonderful, spontaneous magic.
And honestly? That’s what Ginnie Springs has always been for me, because it’s more than just a swimming hole or tubbing adventure down the river. It’s a reset button. A soul soak. A place where time slows down and the memories hit a little differently. That trip wasn’t just a party — it was a throwback to what matters most: good people, open skies, and letting life surprise you.
So here’s to spontaneous nights, disco buses, and that little slice of North Florida heaven that always brings me back to life.
Catch you on the river. 🕺☀️💦
