Another Kickball season is in the books, and as always, it came with plenty of laughs, competition, and, of course, the superlative awards. Every year, we crown an MVP, Party Girl, Tardy Girl, and the one everybody secretly wants: Ms. Congeniality.
Now, if you know me, you know this is my lane. I’ve pretty much held down the team Ms. Congeniality title since I started playing, and honestly, I wear it with pride. Overall, Ms. Congeniality? I’ve only snagged that once, but trust me, I’m not done yet. One day, she’s coming back home to me.
Winning or not, I love what the award represents. It’s about showing up as your whole self — good vibes, encouragement, and maybe a little sparkle on the side. Sure, sometimes life gets a little shaky (don’t we all wobble now and then?), but I’ve learned I’ll always land back on the stage, ready to shine again.
And hey, real talk? I know I complain more than I’d like. It’s something I’m working on. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but at least I’m aware, and that’s step one.
Taking a Breather
This year, I’m actually hitting pause on the league. I decided to take the season off so I can focus on some big things: my career, building my business, meeting new people, and, honestly, giving myself some overdue self-love. The league has been such a fun part of my life, but right now I’m excited to pour some of that energy back into myself.
Don’t get it twisted, though, this isn’t a goodbye. I’ll be back. And when I do, I plan on coming back even better, maybe even ready to reclaim Ms. Congeniality herself.
Until then, cheers to Summer 2025, to growth, to balance, and to always finding my way back to the stage.
